The scandal surrounding Jacqui Lambie is gaining momentum: her latest remarks were heard across Australiа

A new conflict has erupted in Australian politics, and this time it centers on Tasmanian independent Senator Jacqui Lambie. Her harsh remarks directed at Pauline Hanson quickly went far beyond a typical parliamentary spat and sparked a storm of reactions.

The new clash was sparked by a satirical video released by One Nation targeting Liberal politician and former SAS soldier Andrew Hastie.

In the video, Hastie was repeatedly called a “traitor.” For Lambie, who herself served in the Australian Army and regularly speaks out in defense of veterans, this proved to be a red line.

She demanded that the video be removed and publicly spoke out in defense of Hastie.

But the matter did not end with mere criticism.

Lambie called Hanson’s actions “absolutely disgusting” and accused her of hiding behind political cartoons instead of engaging in direct dialogue.

Her words instantly spread throughout the Australian media.

Instead of ending after the first statement, the conflict continued to escalate.

Hanson refused to immediately remove the controversial material, and Lambie intensified her criticism. In subsequent remarks, the senator used even harsher language.

For Lambie, the issue went far beyond a personal conflict between two politicians.

She argued that such attacks affected not only Hastie but also other Australian veterans who had testified in court.

And that is precisely where the story took on a much more emotional tone.

While attention was focused on the conflict with Hanson, Lambie was simultaneously involved in another political battle—for healthcare for Australian veterans.
The government planned to set an annual limit of 5,000 Australian dollars on certain medical services for veterans.
Lambie strongly opposed this initiative.

She also spoke publicly about her own experience with health issues after her service, using her story as an argument against limiting assistance to veterans. The dispute lasted several weeks. Then the government backed down. On September 17, it was announced that the proposal for a cap was being withdrawn.

For Lambie, this was a significant political victory.

In September, the senator continued to actively participate in Australian political life, giving interviews and speaking publicly on issues related to veterans, One Nation’s activities, and other topics.

Therefore, it would be incorrect to interpret such a statement as an announcement of a death or a confirmed personal tragedy.

However, there is another meaning that does indeed correspond to what is happening.

Jacqui Lambie once again demonstrated the style that has made her one of the most recognizable figures in Australian politics for many years: she rarely minces words when she considers an issue a matter of principle.

The controversy over the medical limit for veterans ended in a victory for its opponents. The government has abandoned the controversial initiative.

But the political standoff surrounding Hanson, One Nation, and attitudes toward Australian veterans is far from over.
And if recent events have shown anything, it’s that Jacqui Lambie has no intention of staying on the sidelines.
